Parent Committees

Oro Grande has several committees where parents and staff work together to promote school programs. We welcome parental participation and advocacy in all aspects of the educational process.

PTAC (Parent Teacher Association Committee)

The PTAC promotes parent/school interaction, organizes special events for the students, and sponsors fundraising activities to help purchase items not covered by the general budget. PTAC meets at the school on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.

Site-Based Council

The Site-Based Council ensures that individuals who are affected by the outcome of a decision at our school share in the decision making process. It consists of the school principal, three teachers, one non-certificated (support staff) school employee, three parents or guardians of school students, and two community members. Students, parents, or community members may bring issues and concerns before the council. For more information, contact the school principal, Mr. Bitterman.

Parent Involvement Committee

The Parent Involvement Committee promotes school/parent cooperation by developing improvement strategies in the areas of communicating, parenting, student learning, volunteering, school decision making and advocacy, and collaborating with the community.
